This bladder cancer awareness month we are asking
Are you
#PeeAware?
Most of us don't like to talk about what happens in the bathroom. We’re here to change that.
Being #PeeAware means knowing what’s normal for you, and knowing when to take action.

If you have noticed a change, click the poster below that matches your symptoms. If none of them does, please contact your GP practice or call 111.
🚩 The Colour Check (Inspired by Bertie Beetroot)
The colour of your pee matters. If you notice your pee is red, pink, orange, or brown, even if it only happens once, don't ignore it. It’s not always "just something you ate."
Action: Contact your GP practice or call 111 immediately.
🚩 The Infection Check (Inspired by Clara and Chloe the Chilli Sisters)
A burning sensation or a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is common, but it shouldn't be a cycle. If you have frequent UTIs that aren’t responding to antibiotics, it could be a sign of something more serious.
Action: Don't just ask for another prescription; ask for an investigation.
🚩 The Urgency Check (Inspired by Rory Runner Bean)
If you find yourself constantly looking for the nearest toilet or feeling a sudden, uncontrollable urge to go, it’s time to listen to your body. Urgency and frequency are key symptoms that need checking out.
Action: Mention these changes to your doctor.
Bladder cancer is highly treatable if caught early. Waiting "to see if it goes away" is the biggest risk you can take.
When the changes started.
If there was any blood (even a tiny tint).
How often you are going compared to your "normal."
If you’ve finished a course of antibiotics and the symptoms are still there.
Together we can save lives by increasing awareness and getting early diagnosis
